Jetson ONE – World’s First Freestyle eVTOL adventures! 2025

The company already has 460 confirmed orders…

The Jetson ONE is a type of personal ultralight known as an eVTOL. It is a 102-horsepower battery-operated ultralight with eight electric motors. The personal ultralight is produced by Jetson company and it is manufactured and tested in Arezzo, Italy. To fly the single-seat ultralight, the operator does not need to have a pilot license nor have any special training in US. It is equipped with a parachute.

Background

In 2017 Tomasz Patan and Peter Ternström started Jetson with the goal of “making everyone a pilot”.[1] In 2018 Patan designed a personal flying car. The design was improved upon and in 2021 Patan invented a new model called the Jetson ONE eVTOL.[2] In 2022 the company offered the Jetson Ones for US$92,000 each.[3] In 2022 the company began manufacturing the Jetson One in Poland.[4]

In 2022 the company moved production and testing of the Jetson ONE from Poland to a facility in Arezzo, Italy. The CEO of the company is Stephan D’haene and he announced that the company obtained approval from the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) to fly the aircraft in Italy’s uncontrolled airspace.[4] In 2023, the company announced that they had raised US$15 million to fund the project. They planned to begin delivering the next Jetson ONEs in 2024.[5]

The Jetson ONE has been designed to be the most nimble and maneuverable manned flying vehicle bringing the fun of flight to new levels. In this video, Jetson founder Tomasz Patan puts the ONE through its paces, from sharp twists and tight turns to more unconventional aerial maneuvers. Thanks to the ultra lightweight construction, powerful electric propulsion and minimalistic design Jetson pilot has the absolute freedom of navigating the skies with unmatched precision and agility. The Jetson One electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft is a lightweight (253 lb) quadrotor can fly for approximately 20 minutes with a pilot – weighing a maximum of 210 pounds – at up to 63 MPH above 1,500 feet of altitude. This summer, Jetson revealed that its One eVTOl had tested its personal aircraft can cover 11 miles.

“Earlier this spring we performed a multitude of endurance tests with the Jetson ONE. Flights were done out of ground effect at at a field with 730ft elevation,” Jetson said in a news release. “With a cruise speed of 60km/h (37mph) we repeatedly covered a total distance of 17.74km (11.02 miles). We are continuously looking for ways to extend that time, but we are reasonably satisfied with the progress that we have made to bring a new and unique product to the market.”

flying car or roadable aircraft is a type of vehicle which can function both as a road vehicle and as an aircraft. As used here, this includes vehicles which drive as motorcycles when on the road. The term “flying car” is also sometimes used to include hovercars and/or VTOL personal air vehicles. Many prototypes have been built since the early 20th century, using a variety of flight technologies. Most have been designed to take off and land conventionally using a runway. Although VTOL projects are increasing, none has yet been built in more than a handful of numbers.

Their appearance is often predicted by futurologists, and many concept designs have been promoted. Their failure to become a practical reality has led to the catchphrase “Where’s my flying car?”, as a paradigm for the failure of predicted technologies to appear. Flying cars are also a popular theme in fantasy and science fiction stories.
