A defining trait of the second Trump administration has been his push for vengeance. The Justice Department indicted former FBI Director James Comey, and when a judge threw out the case, it indicted Comey again. He publicly gloated about the death of Robert Mueller, Comey’s friend and the former special counsel who led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump-Epstein Reading Room is a new exhibition space in Tribeca that opened on May 8, 2026. The exhibit displays all 3.5 million pages of the Epstein files, bound into 3,437 physical volumes that stand two stories tall. [1]
Journalist and MSNBC host Katie Phang recently visited the space, describing the experience as “enraging” due to the stark lack of accountability for those involved in the international trafficking operation. [1]
Key Details of the Exhibition and Phang’s Involvement:
Purpose: Phang stated the lawsuit is not for financial gain but to ensure transparency and a “special master” to oversee the DOJ’s handling of the records. She argues the current redactions are improper and obstruct her work as a journalist
The Space: Located in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, the exhibit was organized by David Garrett and others to push for the full release and proper redaction of remaining Epstein documents.
Katie Phang’s Lawsuit: On April 27, 2026, Katie Phang filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of Justice (specifically naming acting Attorney General Todd Blanche). The suit seeks to compel compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, demanding the release of fully unredacted files while protecting the privacy of victims.
Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th president of the United States, developed a social and professional relationship with financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that began in the late 1980s and continued into at least the early 2000s.[1][2][3][4] During Trump’s prior careers as a businessman and media personality before entering politics in 2015, he and Epstein visited each other’s real estate properties regularly. Trump and Epstein socialized frequently throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, including attending parties at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and Epstein’s residence. Flight logs released during an associate’s trial confirm that Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet multiple times in the 1990s, and according to Epstein, Trump first had sex with his future wife Melania Knauss in his private jet. Trump had a falling out with Epstein around 2004 and ceased contact. After Epstein was said to have sexually harassed a teenage daughter of another Mar-a-Lago member in 2007, Trump banned him from the club. Epstein said, in a 2019 email attributed by NBC News and Axios to the event, that he had never been a member of the club.
As of October 2024, since the 1970s, at least 28 women[1][2] have publicly accused Donald Trump of various acts of sexual misconduct, including rape, sex with minors, sexual assault, physical abuse, kissing and groping without consent, looking under women’s skirts, and walking in on naked pageant contestants.
In 2023, a jury in a New York civil trial found Trump liable for the sexual abuse and defamation of writer E. Jean Carroll, awarding her $5 million in damages. The jury did not find him liable for rape but the presiding judge later said that the jury’s finding of sexual abuse met the common definition of rape. In a subsequent 2024 civil trial, Trump was again found liable for defamation of Carroll and ordered to pay her an additional $83.3 million.
Beyond the Carroll case, several other women have filed lawsuits against Trump, including his former wife Ivana Trump, who alleged a ‘violent assault’ during their 1990 divorce (which she later withdrew), and businesswoman Jill Harth, who sued in 1997 alleging sexual harassment and assault. Other notable litigants include former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos and campaign staffer Alva Johnson, both of whom filed suits that were later withdrawn or dismissed.
Following Trump’s 2024 re-election, and the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act that led to the release of the Epstein Files in late-2025 and early 2026, it was revealed that the FBI had conducted secret investigations into Trump’s ties to Epstein dating back to the 1990s. The files included several unverified tips to the FBI National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) regarding alleged misconduct and trafficking involving Trump and Jeffrey Epstein,[3][4] including a 1990 oral rape allegation, which resulted in multiple FBI interviews with the accuser, and a 1995 report from a limousine driver alleging that Trump had discussed abusing a girl with Epstein.[5][6][7]
In 2005, Trump told Howard Stern on his radio show that “he got away with going backstage when the contestants were naked” at beauty pageants.[8] In October 2016, two days before the second presidential debate with Hillary Clinton, a 2005 “hot mic” recording surfaced in which Trump was heard saying “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything … grab them by the pussy.”[9] The incident’s widespread media exposure led to Trump’s first public apology during the campaign,[10] and caused outrage across the political spectrum.[11]
