Electric vehicle leasing services open for business in Austin

The electric vehicle subscription company Autonomy is now offering its services in Austin, giving Central Texans another option to get behind the wheel of the new technology.

Working with Tesla products, the Santa Monica-based company currently offers both the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y for monthly leasing.

In an offer available through the end of 2022, Autonomy’s services require a $3,000 start fee and a $450 monthly payment. The monthly charge covers the traditional costs of ownership, including routine maintenance and roadside assistance under limitations, as well as standard wear and tear on tires. Qualified subscribers will also receive the company’s integrated month-to-month insurance offering.

“We’re creating the change we want to see by reinventing not only car rental, but also mobility through our proprietary UFODRIVE system.”

In October, UFODrive expanded its electric vehicle rental services to Austin as well as New York City after launching its services in San Francisco. UFODrive offers app-based booking and registration, keyless entry using your phone, range management, charging optimization and on-trip support.

The company offers its services in nine countries and 25 locations including London, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Dublin and Amsterdam, sharing that is customers have driven a total of 15 million “fully electric miles.”

Its fleet includes the Tesla Model 3, Model S and Model Y as well as the Volkswagen ID.3, VW ID.4, Cupra Born and the Hyundai Kona.
